Aynor is located about 25 miles west of Myrtle Beach and has a population of less than 2,500. Ideal for families that would like some “space” these small towns are truly the modern-day “Mayberry”. As you ride through the countryside you will see miles of farmland and feel the tranquility of the rural settings. These close-knit communities are becoming the bedroom communities of the beaches. The average price home in Aynor is $250,000.

Galivants Ferry
In between Aynor and Marion to the west is the unincorporated community of Galivants Ferry. Some of the community lies along the Little Pee Dee River, and was originally the site of an 18th-century ferry. Like Aynor, Galivants Ferry is mostly farms and agricultural land and has a historic area that reflects it, with tenant farm shacks, tobacco structures, and a plantation home. Like Aynor, real estate in Galivants Ferry is generally much less expensive than in more developed areas, averaging prices in the mid- $200,000's. Waterfront lots on the river can be found, at a higher price than most of the average home lots. Aynor and its nearby areas will appeal to those who want to live in the country and get more house for the money.
