Century 21 McAlpine and Associates.

Taking a different path into real estate, Ben Heemstra spent five years caring for professional baseball fields for organizations including the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, and Williamsport Crosscutters. Through baseball, he also had the opportunity to travel internationally to Taichung, Taiwan and Regensburg, Germany for the 2023 World Baseball Classic and its qualifying events, as well as to Ponce, Puerto Rico, where he helped construct a professional baseball field. These experiences shaped his work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to perform at a high level in demanding environments.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Ben graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Turfgrass Sciences. After traveling throughout the United States and abroad, he ultimately settled in Myrtle Beach and transitioned into a career in real estate. Having made a major move himself, Ben understands what it feels like to start fresh in a new place and enjoys serving as a trusted guide for those looking to relocate to Horry County and the surrounding areas.

When he is not working, Ben can usually be found on the golf course, making his famous chocolate chip cookies (Thanks, Mom!), watching Penn State Sports (WE ARE!), watching the Eagles, or catching a Phillies game with his fiancée and their two cats, Nacho and Mojito.

Ben is highly competitive and detail-oriented, always striving to secure the best possible outcome for his clients. He combines that drive with a calm, supportive approach, using both his own knowledge and the strength of the team around him to ensure his clients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout the entire real estate process.

If you are looking for a Realtor who is ready to go to bat for you and values your goals as much as his own, Ben Heemstra brings the expertise, professionalism, and dedication needed to help you move forward with confidence.

Getting to Know Me

1.  Why are you a good fit for Real Estate?

- One of the most rewarding aspects of groundskeeping was the ability to provide smiles and memories for those who would attend the games in person or watch on TV. Real estate is a perfect transition where I can facilitate the same to those who are looking to move into the area. I know just how stressful it can be to pick up and move to a brand new area, and I hope to be a resource for those who are in the same boat.

2.  Where are you originally from?

 - Northumberland, Pennsylvania

3.  What brought you to the area?

 - My fiancé and I had vacationed here multiple times, so once we decided we were sick of the cold up north, we decided that Myrtle Beach would be perfect for us.

4.  What are your favorite local restaurants?

 - I love RipTydz, Pier 14, and the Dead Dog Saloon, and would always love to hear your recommendations for food in the area!

5.  What are your favorite activities in your downtime?

 - Torturing myself over trying to break 80 on the golf course, hanging around the pool, or going to the beach!

6.  What are your favorite Sports Teams?

 - The Phillies, the Eagles, and Penn State sports!

7.  Do you play any sports? If so, what sport(s) do you play?

 - I love to golf, and have played baseball from the time I could throw a ball up until the time I graduated high school.

8.  Do you have any pets?

 - Two cats, Nacho and Mojito!

9.  What are you passionate about?

 - I am passionate about bettering myself to be a better person, spouse, and Realtor by taking the time to work on myself and learn about the things I enjoy. I hope to one day leave a positive impact on the lives of everyone around me.

10. How important is Customer Service to you?

 - Customer service is everything. Personally, I wouldn’t feel comfortable working with anyone who doesn’t make me feel confident and at ease throughout what could be the biggest transaction of my life. That’s why it’s so important to me that either I, or a member of my team is with you every step of the way, communicating clearly, answering your questions, and guiding you until you reach exactly where you want to be.
